A scoping phase forms the foundation of each of Bureau's projects, be they branding, design or technology. This initial stage is geared towards gaining a full understanding of our client's needs, competitive landscape and audience.
Informed by these findings, Bureau delivers strategic insights that help shape the communication stance, allowing us to precisely tailor a project around internal workflows, specific user journeys or new audience touchpoints.
Bureau views design as an applied visual method to communicate. Content is supported by adhering to a consistent hierarchy, guiding the eye and assisting with orientation, whilst clear informational syntax and a well structured, engaging presentation helps content-uptake.
Bureau has an iterative and staged design process, involving close collaboration with the client to ensure the outcome receives consideration and can be tested against deliverables throughout the process.
From its inception Bureau has been proactive in the use and progression of technology — resulting in our own, constantly evolving, open source-based editorial system, which we employ for a large percentage of our projects as well as quick prototyping. We’re also experienced in working with and planning for other content management or database systems.
Bureau believes in basing innovative user experience on full accessibility and cross platform compatibility, using open and non-proprietary standards.
The company's approach is informed by a comprehensive cultural understanding gathered over many years of work for major brands spanning the consumer, telecommunications, financial and cultural sectors.
Bureau believes our clients’ objectives and people are as important as their brand, and seek a full comprehension of all three. Similarly, a brand and its language must be combined with the motivations and needs of the end-user to be successful.
